Wilderness at the Smokies-Indoor Waterpark

Again, I need some advice. We have been asked by Isaac and Luke's best friend's family to go on vacation with them for Spring Break. We are strongly considering going to the new indoor water park in Sevierville, TN...I think it's called Wilderness at the Smokies.

If you (or someone you know) as been since they opened the indoor park, do you mind leaving me a comment with your review? If we go, I will definitely do a review but until then I am relying on you guys to let me know if it is worth the drive/money for 4 adults and 8 kids. THANKS!

Margaret Ann and Jim Williams went up there for a dance team competition with their girls (high school age) and they LOVED it. They said it was awesome for any age even the adults. I think Manda is planning on taking Belle in March.

We have booked it for the summer for a long weekend trip before school starts back. I have heard it is a great place!! The second outdoor part with a wave pool and lazy river is opening this summer too.

Found your blog a week or so ago through Feedjit, am also located in Nashville area. The Nashville area Parent magazine (free) has an article right now about this waterpark - copy I get is named Williamson Parent, not sure what the one is named in your area but can pick up from Chik-fil-A. :)

We haven't stayed, but I was surprised at how FAR away it is from the actual Smokies! I remember it being a pretty good distance from Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. Seems like it's back on the interstate side of things. On a crowded week, it would take an hour to get into G'burg from there.

Hey Brea,

This is Jon Carmack, Holly's husband. You should give her a call, we stayed at Wilderness over the New Year holiday and had a lot of fun. We have some pictures on my Facebook page and Hollys.
